IELTS Speaking Test has three parts part 1, part 2 and part 3.

In part 1 of the Speaking test, the examiner will ask 4-6 common questions on personal topics. The examiner will introduce him/herself then ask your name and ask you to confirm your identity.

The questions asked in this part include personal and common topics such as hobbies, home, family, work, studies, likes and dislikes and interests. It will last for about 4-5 minutes.

It is normal that after the examiner asks for your name. He/she will then ask you to show your identity (passport in this case) and the examiner will also want to know what you do, where you are from and some basic conversation-starters(introduction) questions.

1. How popular are bicycles in your hometown? [Why?]

It is very common, especially among children and teenagers. They ride it everywhere whenever they are sent on an errand, some people rent bicycles out to children. The amount paid depends on how many minutes they use. Recently a bicycle competition was organised for children.

2. How often do you ride a bicycle? [Why/Why not?]

That will be never, I don’t even know how to ride it, I Bev took out time to learn it as a kid because I was scared of falling and hurting myself. Even now, I don’t think I want to learn how to ride it.

3. Do you think that bicycles are suitable for all ages? [Why/Why not?]

Well according to research, riding a bicycle helps to stretch the stretch out and strengthen the muscles. It is an outdoor port since it’s a sport it is certainly good for all ages so far they are fit to ride it.

4. What are the advantages of a bicycle compared to a car? [Why?]

The advantages of a bicycle compared to a car are, it’s a cheap and quick way to travel around towns and cities. It is eco-friendly, it does not leave carbon behind unlike cars, it is good for health, it is easy to repair, it can be used to explore nature, it helps reduce stress and anxiety, and not important it’s affordable compared to a car.

1. Do you like reading books? Why?

Yes I do. Because reading helps nurture our brains and gives us the capacity to understand life in a much better manner. Also, reading gives room for grammar and language improvement. When you read a lot, you discover new words all the time. Reading also helps to build your vocabulary. Like my Father usually says, “Every reader is a leader”.

2. What book would you take on a long journey?

I don’t have a particular book, I only take whatever catches my attention or what er I have been reading previously. But most of the time I read romance, fantasy, or supernatural fictional books that talk about wolves, witches, or vampires.

3. How easy is it for you to read books in English?

It is very easy, as a child my parents made it mandatory for me and my siblings to learn how to speak, read and write in English first before learning our native language. Now we speak, read and write in both English and our native language with ease.

4. Have you given up reading a book recently?

No, I will never give up on reading. Reading is one of the things that gives me a calm mind and keeps me very oriented. It became one of my hobbies ever since I was a child. I don’t think there is anything that can take reading away from me. I have learned so many things through reading.

5. What kind of people like reading and what kind of people don’t like reading very much?

People who like reading have imaginative minds, they always want to know more or acquire more knowledge and so they read diverse kinds of books. Those who don’t like to read are those who can’t go through sitting down for a long time to read not that they don’t like to learn but they think it is stressful to sit down for hours reading.

6. Do you like watching advertisements?

Not really, but it depends on the type of advertisement and if it catches my attention. Most times I hate advertisements when watching Tv shows, I think it’s just a waste of time but know that’s how those shows make some of their money.

7. Will you buy something because of an advertisement?

Definitely, I have so many things that I have bought because I saw them on tv or a billboard. I don’t buy stuff without knowing what it entails first. That is where advertisement comes in handy.

8. How do you feel when you see pop-up ads on the internet?

Oh I get so angry because it just obstructs whatever I am doing, especially when it is important. Some of those ads are inappropriate ads which makes me hate it more. I only need to feed my eyes and mind with valuable things, not things that will destroy my soul.

9. Do you like funny or serious advertisements?

I love those ads that are not too serious and not too funny. The ad should be straight to the point and also speak fun. It should be a combination of both.

10. What makes a good advertisement?

I think a good ad is composed and developed to emotionally relate to its target audience. Once related, your ad’s oratory strongly convinces its prospective buyers to want the merchandise or service. The person realizes a need for it and feels a sense of necessity until the purchase is made.

1. Who is your favourite celebrity?

I have many celebrities I like, it’s kind of hard to choose from. Some of the celebrities I like are Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, Salman Khan, Tasha Cobbs, Ariana Grande, and much more.

2. Do you like any foreign celebrities?

Yes I do, most of my favourite celebrities are foreign celebrities. I like only a few Indian celebrities. Don’t get me wrong I love my country but I just kind of find foreign celebrities more appealing than celebrities in my country.

3. Would you want to be a celebrity in the future?

Yes, I want to be famous in my chosen field, I want to be known and appreciated for my work.

4. Do you think we should protect famous people’s privacy?

I don’t think there is any law that states we should protect the privacy of famous people. But we are to respect and not invade their privacy. Even I as an ordinary citizen cherish my privacy and won’t like it to be invaded.

5. How do celebrities influence their fans in your country?

Celebrities can have both positive and negative influence on their fans. Celebrities can have a positive influence on youth by serving as role models and sharing gifts among their fans. But some other celebrities can also provide toxic examples. Specifically, celebrity influence on body image and substance use is often destructive to teen mental health.

1. Where do you usually buy your clothes?

I buy my clothes at the mall. I don’t have a particular mall, just any mall that catches my attention.

2. What kind of clothes do you never wear?

As I said earlier, I can never wear revealing clothes. I don’t see the use in it. My mom will always say to me as a young kid, “Dress the way you want to be addressed”. So since I don’t want to be addressed badly I have to dress well. I also would never wear clothes that look like they have been ripped in different places.

3. Do you ever wear the traditional clothes of your country?

Yes we do mostly during parties or a general celebration like festivals. We have a particular day of the week we can wear our traditional clothes if we choose.

4. Have you ever worn a uniform?

Yes, from kindergarten to high school I wore a uniform. It’s kind of funny that though I changed schools a lot and all the schools my parents managed to get had a protocol of wearing a uniform.

5. Do most people in your country follow fashion?

Yes they do, fashion is always the talk of the day, especially among girls. We even follow foreign fashion lines just so we would be up to date with our dressing.

6. Do you wear the same style of clothes on weekdays and weekends?

No, on weekdays I wear normal working clothes but during the weekends I say bye to working clothes and welcome to casual wear. I don’t think I have one particular outfit for weekends but I know that it doesn’t consist of pants, suit trousers or jacket.

7. Can we judge a person's character by clothing? Why?

Yes and no I believe that People are being always judged by their appearance and the clothes they wear. First impressions are really important, but they don’t determine our character. People should get to discern each other to find out who they are. There also times that the clothes one wears speak volumes about who they are. Some people who are prudent in their dressing, most likely have a prudent character which means they are more traditional in their beliefs and values in life, they are more cautious.

8. Do you like brands? Why or why not?

Yes I love brands, because of the peace of mind it provides. When I buy clothes I want comfort, happiness, and satisfaction and I get it in part through the products I buy. If I use brands consistently and it delivers a positive experience, I form an opinion that the brand is trustworthy, which gives me peace of mind when buying.

1. What’s your favourite colour? [Why?]

I don’t have a favourite colour, it kind of hard to choose from because there are so many beautiful colours but I love colours that are not too dull nor too flashy. Any colour that can blend with my dark skin and make me look good is okay for me.

2. Do you like the same colours now as you did when you were younger? [Why/Why not?]

As a little girl I loved pink and purple but now I don’t even have a particular colour I like, though I still like pink and purple but not as min as before. So no, I don’t love the same colours I loved as a child.

3. What can you learn about a person from the colours they like?

We can learn a lot, it is popularly said that you can know a person’s personality and mood through the colours they like. We practically dress every morning according to our mood. When we are happy and cheerful we ten to dress in brighter colours, when we are sad we dress in dull colours.

4. Do any colours have a special meaning in your culture?

In Indian culture, colour has political and religious importance and is utilized during festivals, celebrations and ceremonies. Saffron, which communicates sanctity, is one of the most divine colours, it can be found on the robes of Hindu monks. The colour Blue is attributed to Lord Krishna, and it means eternity, courage and strength, and judgment.

1. Do you use a computer?

Yes I do, most of my work comprises using the computer. I love to write so I use my laptop to type my work and then back them up.

2. What do you use a computer to do?

I use a computer to make data entries at work, watch movies, play games, type my write-ups, I also use it to browse the internet, make graphic designs and much more.

3. Did you use computers when you were little?

Yes I did, I loved computers as a little girl and I learnt how to handle them at the age of 4 going to 5. My brother taught me how to handle it when he saw I had an interest in it.

4. Do people often use computers these days?

Yes, computers have taken over this generation, practically everything done in the world today is computer-based. Even exams are written using computers. Organizations use computers to keep records of their data.

5. Will people continue to use computers in the future?

Yes, I think computers will still be used in the future but with better upgrades. Better computers will be invented. Even this generation is called the computer generation because almost everything can be done on a computer.

1. What do you use dictionaries for?

I use a dictionary to get rid of bad translations, get help with spelling, pronunciation, grammar, word families, prepositions, phrasal verbs, idioms, synonyms, antonyms, much more. I also use a dictionary to build my grammatical structure.

2. What dictionaries do you think are most useful?

Most times I use Electronic thesaurus, Oxford, Longman, Merriam Webster, and others.

3. Do you think dictionaries are useful for learning a language?

Yes. A dictionary is one of the first things any language learner acquires and it is believed that dictionaries can help in the learning of vocabulary. Dictionaries also give more information on word derivation, meaning, spelling, and pronunciation.

4. What kind of information can you find in a dictionary?

Diverse information can be gotten from the dictionary such as word definitions, correct spelling, pronunciation guide, synonyms, and alternate meanings of the word.

1. Do you prefer relaxing at home or going out in the evening? [Why?]

It depends on my mood, most times I go for a walk or go to the movies but whenever I feel tired, I prefer to stay at home and relax. Probably watch a movie or two, or I would just sleep. It depends on how energetic or tired I am.

2. When you go out for an evening, what do you like to do?

Sometimes I go to the movies, go for karaoke or take a long walk. Other times I go out with my friends or my sister. When I am out with my friends it always varies.

3. How popular is this with other people in your country?

I don’t know. Everybody has something they like to do, some people go to clubs, others go to the movies and so on.

4. Is there any kind of entertainment you do not like? [Why/Why not?]

I go to clubs but it is usually when my friends persuade me. But I don’t like going to clubs because people just go there to drink themselves to stupor and indulge in so many immoral acts. I don’t find anything appealing about going to clubs.

1. How many people are there in your immediate family?

We are a family of 5. My father (Chris), mother (Love), brother (Luke), sister (Eve), and I (Sharon).

2. Who do you get on best with, in your family?
3. Do you have a large extended family?

Yes, an extra-large extended family. My Mom alone has 6 siblings and they all have at least 4 children each, one of my uncles even has 7 children, and my Dad has 5 siblings who also have children. Some of these children also have children. I don’t even know all my relatives. That’s why we hold family reunions so we can get to know some of the relatives we don’t know.

4. What do you do together with your family?

In my family, we have movie nights and family dinners, no matter where we are we always make sure we come together for movie nights and family dinners. We also go on family vacations twice a year for bonding. We also have open-up nights, it is mostly done during our vacation. This is when each member of the family speaks up and out about what they are going through and also talks about what other members of the family might have done to offend them, and I tell you this night is always filled with a lot of emotions. We also have a family game night.

5. Why is family important to you?

Hmm, Family has played an important part in who I have become. My parents made sure my siblings and I grew up in an atmosphere where no matter what we do we should never forget that family comes first. During my difficult times, my family was the one who stood by me. They loved me, chastised me, and still welcomed me with open hands. They never for once judged me or neglected me, all they had were words of encouragement. And I am eternally grateful for the type of family I grew up in.

6. Do you do housework at home?

Yes, it is compulsory in my family. No member of my family is permitted to sit idle without doing anything. Even my brother was trained as a girl. He knew how to cook, the sweep was clothes, and any other household chores you can think of. My mom didn’t take it easy on me and my sister either. And being the last born I was given most of the chores to do, which was always so annoying.

7. What kind of housework do you often do?

Most of the time I clear the dining tables after each meal and then wash all the plates. I also sweep and make sure the living room and kitchen are kept clean. I often help my Mom in the kitchen too.

8. Did you do housework when you were a child?

Yes I did, I always help with clearing the dining table after each meal and I also help my Mom in the kitchen. I help my sister in drying the plates after she washes them, and I help my brother in folding clothes after they have been washed and dried.

9. Do you think that children should do housework?

Yes, given children housework to do helps them to be responsible and helps them to contribute to the day-to-day activities of the household.

1. Have you ever visited a farm?

Of course yes. A farm is a lively place where all farming activities take place such as planting cash and food crops, rearing animals I.e. live stocks, etc. On the farm, you eat fresh food and not junk like that of the city. Most of the time on the farm, farmers do a lot of activities such as tiling, stumping, ridging, and the likes to ensure proper germination of the crops. I used to visit the farm with my Grandpa.

2. Do you like farming?

Yes. Farmers serve as the life wire of society. They tend to rescue many from dying because they make food available for the masses, therefore I like farming. After all, it serves as a lifesaver. And also I love to get my hands dirty and I think farming is a way of giving back to the earth.

3. What kind of farm do you like?

I prefer Commercial farming because people get to produce in large quantities to sell and get money in exchange. And it also makes food products available for consumption.

4. Do you think farming is important?

Yes, Agriculture plays a vital role in the universal life of a given economy. Agriculture is the backbone of the economic system of a given country. In addition to contributing food and raw material, agriculture also gives employment vacancies to a very massive fraction of the population.

5. Did you do farm work when you were young?

Yes, as I said earlier I use to go to the farm with my Grandpa whenever I visit him for the holidays. I used to help him with watering the farmland, sometimes I helped in clearing the weeds and also planted seeds.

6. Does your country still use many traditional farming methods?

Yes, they still do. Some people who can’t afford mechanized farms still use the traditional method of farming. People use traditional farms because mechanized farming will cause a lot of unemployment and reduces human labor.

1. What place do you most like to visit? [Why?]

I love to visit many places but the beach is one of my favourite places. It possesses a scenario of nature and as it is commonly said water is an element of peace. I love to take a long walk on the beach staring at the ocean and deep my legs into the sand just to connect with nature and experience a form of calmness that helps to clear my mind.

2. How often do you visit this place? [Why?]

I don’t only go to the beach just for fun, my house is close to the beach so I take a long walk at least 4 to 5 times a week on the beach. I love to stay clear of negativity and the beach helps me in that area. Whenever I go for a walk on the beach. I am always able to make good decisions.

3. Is it popular with many other people? [Why?]

I wouldn’t know but whenever I go for a walk I come across other people on the beach so I think a few people also have the same opinion I have about the beach.

4. Has it changed very much since you first went there? [In what way?]

Yes it has, every time is better than the last time. And I always come up with new ideas on how to become a better person and also live a good life.

1. What sorts of food do you like eating most? Why?

Well I don’t like heavy food, not that I don’t eat them I do but not much. But I love anything light that I can eat without feeling like I have. Bloating stomach. My favourite food is either Tea, bread and egg or Plantain and egg with juice.

2. Who normally does the cooking in your home?

I do most of the cooking, ever since my mom became confident that I would handle cooking for lots of people she left the cooking to me as my sister knows how to cook but hates doing it.

3. Do you watch cookery programmes on TV? [Why/Why not?]

Yes lots of cookery shows, I mainly want to expand my knowledge of cooking and also learn as many continental dishes as I can. Plus cooking shows are so much fun to watch.

4. In general, do you prefer eating out or eating at home? [Why?]

I only eat out if it’s necessary, anything aside that is a no-no for me. Why waste money to buy something you won’t be satisfied with when you can prepare a good and body nourishing home-cooked meal that will make you feel content. Well, those that don’t know how to cook or are too lazy to cook tend to eat out more.

1. Do you have many friends?

Yes I do, I am a very friendly person so it makes it easy for me to make friends. I have a group of friends (8 people)that we talk through skype every day and I get to see them sometimes during the weekdays and I see them always during the weekends. I also have friends that are not as close as my first set of friends but we still find time to hang out. Let’s just say I can’t count the number of friends I have.

2. How often do you go out with friends?

If I am to count weekends then at least 4 times a week sometimes 5. We hang out most during the weekends. Whenever we are free from school or work, we hang out every day or we have a sleepover for a week at my house

3. Tell me about your best friend at school.

My best friend is named Erica, she is fun-loving, easy-going, and permits me to say crazy. She is tall and slender, let’s just say she is a walking Victoria secret model. She has big beautiful brown eyes to match her hair color. She has a big personality which causes me to wonder how we ended up being friends. I wouldn’t trade her for the world.

4. How friendly are you with your neighbors?

I am very friendly with my neighbors. I am friendly with everyone, except they hurt me then I can be mean. But my neighbors and I have a close bond. Though we fight sometimes we are quick to settle it.

5. Which is more important to you, friends or family?

Family, we’re friends may fail, family sticks together. Though there are times that family fails too but in the end family will always be above friends. I believe that some friends automatically become your family. So I will pick my family any day.

6. Should we help friends.?

Of course, that is what friends are for, to lend a helping hand to one another among other things. A friend that cannot help is not worthy to be called a friend. One of the qualities of true friendship is being able to lend helping hands to one another. You can never be friends with someone you cannot help.

7. What are the qualities of a true friend?

A true friend must be an honest person, must be generous, trustworthy, loyal, non-judgmental, and must be able to understand your feelings without you saying a word. A true friend will always have you back no matter what. A true friend is someone who will be there to lift you when you fall, lend a helping hand when you need it and also tell you the truth no matter how ugly it is.

1. What games are popular in your country? [Why?]

Different games are popular in India such as Fortnite, 8 Ball Pool, Pokerstars, Coin master, Chess, Ludo King, PUBG Mobile, Snake and ladder, Charanga, Pokemon Go, Garena Free Fire and others.

2. Do you play any games? [Why/Why not?]

I play different games like Chess, Scrabble, Monopoly, Snake and ladder, Candy Crush e.t.c. I believe games are stress relievers and I also love to get my mind busy and not idle.

3. How do people learn to play games in your country?

Well people can learn by themselves through the guide of the games or they could have someone who knows how to play the game teach them.

4. Do you think it’s important for people to play games? [Why/Why not?]

Yes, as I said before games are stress relievers and also help to boost our intellect. Game your brain to good use. It helps you to think fast.

1. When do you send gifts?

I send a gift to people at different times, I don’t have a particular time. I don’t need to wait for a celebration before I give a gift. I believe that gifts should be given as a way of being thoughtful or as a form of appreciation and encouragement, so I tend to give a gift to people even if there is no occasion.

2. When was the last time you received a gift?

I receive gifts a lot so it’s kind of hard to keep track. But if I am right I received a makeup kit from my sister 3 days ago. I don’t fancy makeup, I only do it once in a while but my sister feels I have. Good makeup face and thought it wise to give me a makeup kit which I love by the way.

3. Have you received a gift you didn’t like?

Yes, my mom once gave me a mini gown, I loved the design and all but I hated the colour. It didn’t suit my skin, it was too flashy and made me look like an outdated old woman trying to be stylish. I would never be caught dead wearing something of such. So I gave it to someone who liked it. Though I didn’t tell her I disliked it.

4. How do you feel when you receive a gift?

I feel important, loved and appreciated. Gifts have a way of reviving what ever sour mood I might be in. I love getting gifts.

5. Do people in your country send gifts to show?

It depends on the person’s perspective. I send gifts because I love to see the smile on peoples faces, other people send gifts because they are forced, while some send gifts because they want people to comment on their show of kindness.

1. Do you have a hobby?

Yes, I have so many hobbies. Some of my hobbies are, jogging, reading, cooking, going on adventures, singing, listening to music, and watching movies. But my favorite is cooking.

2. What equipment do you need for it?

To cook I need cooking equipment like different sizes of the pot, spoons, frying pan, spatula, bowls, plates, cooking gas or electric burner, and much more.

3. Do you think hobbies should be shared?

Yes, when you share what you enjoy doing and teach others you also learn more about it. And there is always a joy that comes with imparting knowledge to others.

4. Did you have a hobby as a child?

Yes I did, I loved paintings even if I didn’t know how to. I was so eager to learn so anything that caught my interest I would paint it down in the best way I knew how. But I later gave up on it because I had no one to put me truly and I guess I outgrew it. Plus when it comes to painting nobody in my family knew anything about it.

5. What hobbies are popular in your country?

In the country, hobbies depend on what individuals like but some of the hobbies are, digital design and illustration, writing, choreography, cooking, photography, tutoring, playing cricket, singing, and playing musical instruments.

6. Why do you think people have hobbies?

Research shows that hobbies allow you to keep yourself busy and also keep yourself mentally productive during your spare time. Also having hobbies enhance better health and also lower the risk of having high blood pressure. I think enjoying a few hours of your hobby a week can also lessen the risk of depression and dementia.

1. Do you live in a house or a flat?

I live in a house, it’s spacious and can occupy a whole family. I love spacious places, that’s one of the reasons I got the place. Plus I have never really lived in a flat so I don’t think I would consider living there.

2. Why do you live in an apartment/house?

I am a people person, as a young child I grew up in a full house, different people both those that are related and those that are not related to us were always welcomed into our house. So I had a lot of people to look up to. Since I am used to it and coupled with the fact that I don’t like small places because I get panic attacks. I have decided to get a big and spacious place that can occupy my group of friends whenever we decide to have a night out and not get choked.

3. How long have you lived there?

I have lived there ever since I turned 19, that would be 7 years still counting. And I plan to stay there for as long as possible. It’s a good place and I don’t plan to leave anytime soon.

4. What do you enjoy about your place?

Being that I love nature, it calms me, and the house is situated close to the ocean, my room gives me the best view of the ocean and I enjoy it every time I am ordered. It makes me feel like I am not alone

5. What is your favorite room? Why?

This is a trick question because I have many favorite rooms, from my room to the theatre room to the game room and kitchen. But I will pick the kitchen because that was where all my food experiments took place. It’s a place where I perform wonders with my hands. And let’s not forget the bathroom because of the Jacuzzi. Now it’s difficult to choose.

6. Do you plan to live there in the future?

Probably, not sure yet but I don’t plan on giving the house away yet. I am keeping it for as long as possible. Since I share it with my best friend I would only leave if she decides to move out. I don’t think I can afford to pay the rent alone.

7. What kind of accommodation do you wish to have in the future?

I desire to have a house just like this, but with a better ocean view, more spacious and bigger. Something I can consider starting a family in. I love having people around so a place that can occupy my friends and family whenever they come visiting would be better.

8. Can you tell me about the house that you lived in when you were a child?

Wow that is an easy one, my childhood house had no ocean view but it’s surrounded by tall trees, let’s just say a landscape view. It has 7 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms, 3 large living rooms, a game room, a music studio, a theatre room, a big kitchen, and a home office. It also has a backyard that could host over 100 people, we used to hold our family reunions there, we still do. Each room had a balcony. It had a garage that would fit at least 8 cars. It has much more.

1. Do you like outdoor activities?

Yes I like outdoor activity a lot. It improves my language and communication skills, motivation, self-sufficiency, confidence and self-esteem, concentration, self-evaluation, creativity and openness to new opinions.

2. What outdoor sports do you like?

I love swimming, it has been said that water is an element of calmness and peace. So I love going for a swim. It helps to stabilize my heart rate and also takes some stress off my body. I have also learnt that swimming allows me to have a healthy weight, heart and lungs, which is good.

3. How much time do you spend outdoors every week?

I can’t say the exact amount of time but I can tell you I spend a good amount of time outdoors in a week. I swim at least once a day because most of the time I come back home stressed out so I make sure I relax my muscles swimming even if it’s just for 10 minutes.

4. What types of outdoor activities are popular in your country?

There are many outdoor activities in India some of them are, Trekking, Mountaineer, Skiing, Whitewater rafting, Caving, Diving, snorkelling, other watersports, Camel trekking and much more.

5. How often do you use the Internet?

I use the Internet all the time, I think it’s one of the things I can’t do without, because of my work. Apart from that, I think the internet is one of the life forces of our society.

6. Do you think you use the Internet too much?

I will say yes, because all my time is spent on the internet making research for my work, and also I love to keep myself updated about what’s going on around me or in other countries and I can only do that with the internet. So yes I do.

Everything in life has both a negative and positive effect. As much as I like to use the Internet, there are some things I like and some I don’t like about it. The positive effects of the internet are getting Information, acquiring knowledge, and learning, Connecting with old friends and new people, communication, and sharing, online Banking, paying bills, and shopping, Selling and making money, Collaboration, working from home, and entrance to a global workforce, Entertainment and News.

I work as a sales representative at a mobile company, I have to attend to customers and guide them into buying any phone that suits them and also tell them more about the phone.

I work at a mobile company called Idea, it is located in Delhi. It deals with phones and phone accessories

Yes I do, I love interacting with people and this job allows me to do so. I also love talking so interacting with different types of people helps me to understand them better.

Firstly it was the only job available and I also choose it because it will always keep me on my feet. I also chose it because it gives me access to people as I said earlier.

5. What are your responsibilities?

My responsibility is to attend to customers, by asking for what they intend to buy and tell them about the product, I also offer a better product they can get according to budget, and tell them if there are any available discount sales.

6. How long have you been in this job?

I have been on his job for 4 years now and I tell you it’s a great job, it might sound tiring but I enjoy doing it. Different customers come in and go out with no idea of what to buy, so help them alone brings joy to me.

7. How are your colleagues?

My colleagues are the best working partners I could ever ask for, they are friendly, hardworking, and always lend a helping hand to those around them. Being around them is always so much fun, there is never a sad moment with them.

I would love to go into freelancing full fine in the future. I still get to interact with people but this time it’s from different countries and that way I can observe them and learn how they do things in their country.

I currently share an apartment with my best friend in Indira Nagar Maharashtra, India. Sometimes I stay over at my parent’s house whenever I miss my mom’s meals. But most of the time I am always in Indira.

2. Do you like the area that you live in

Yes I love it, the area is cool and conducive, it also has high security so it is safe. The area I live in is nowhere close to the slums, it is an estate so I don’t have to work about being attacked at night. Also, the people around here are not those who invade your privacy, they are welcoming but that’s it. They don’t force themselves on people. They lend a helping hand when the need arises.

3. What do you like most about where you live?

I like a lot of things about the place, starting from the ocean view, the highly sophisticated structure, it has 3 bedrooms and a theatre room. I can never forget the Jacuzzi tub in each bathroom I could live in the jacuzzi. And from the back, I get to view the city. Also, the neighborhood is nice and quiet with no worries of gossipers. I also love the beach sound the area.

4. What is the neighborhood like where you live

it is a nice and quiet neighborhood, I don’t have to worry about thugs and hooligans. It is a safe and secured environment.

5. What can be improved in the area that you live?

The area has so many things that makes it beautiful. Some new things have recently been added, so for now I don’t think there is anything that needs to be improved in my area. Probably because I didn’t notice, but I will look into it.

No, I don’t think any famous people live in my area and if they do they probably stay somewhere else and only come here once in a while.

7. Do you intend to stay in this area in the future?

Not sure yet. I have dreams to relocate abroad but I can keep the apartment for when I come to visit or carry out some activities in India. The house will be suitable.

Well, this area is beautiful and has a unique taste to it. Am sure that there are also places like this abroad or even better than this. But there are places abroad that are not up to the standard of this area so my answer is no.

I love listening to piano and guitar because it gives me a sense of peace, the rhythm somehow inspires me whenever I listen to it.

I learned to play the piano as a little girl, I used to play at school recitals then and even now whenever I need to clear my mind whether I am angry, sad or happy I play it till my fingers get numb.

3. Do you think children should learn to play a musical instrument at school? [Why/Why not?]

Yes they should because music is therapy, it keeps the mind and soul intact, learning to play musical instruments helps the students to feel like a part of something important. It also helps keep them busy and away from bad gangs.

4. How easy would it be to learn to play an instrument without a teacher? [Why?]

It won’t be easy, you can never know the depth of the musical instrument without the aid of a teacher, you can know the basics but there will be a lot of skills you will lack. I think it pays to learn music with the aid of a teacher. You can learn on your own as a way to practice what you’ve been taught that way you will get better.

No, my Aunt chose my first two names, though my parents chose other names too the name I bear today was picked out by my Aunt.

2. Do you like your name?

Yes I do, but I prefer my second name to my first, so most of the time I use my second name. I also use my second name because it is easier to pronounce than the first name.

3. How did your parents choose your name?

As I said earlier, they didn’t choose my name. My Aunt did. She said that she gave me my first name because I smelt like honey when she held me for the first time so she called me that, but used our native language that way not many people will understand its meaning and uniqueness. For my second name, she said my birth brought lots of fortune and people home. I still don’t know what she meant by that.

4. Does your name have any special meaning?

Yes, My first name means Honey mix with Wealth, but my second name means Fertile Land that nourishes people.

5. Is your name common or unusual in your country?

I won’t say it is common or unusual because not many people bear the name but it isn’t unusual. It is a name people have heard about and know the meaning of.

6. If you could change your name, would you?

No, I wouldn’t change my name for the world. It is my identity, if the name wasn’t good my parents wouldn’t have agreed to give it to me. It suits me perfectly.

7. Are clothes important to you?

YES, I wrote in capital letters because I am a freak about clothes. There is no week I don’t go shopping for clothes, my wardrobe is a mall on its own. I don’t even know some of the clothes I own anymore, except for the new ones.

8. What kind of clothes do you usually wear?

Well I wear all kinds of clothing except for revealing clothes. I don’t like wearing clothes that reveal my body. Clothes are to cover our body not reveal them. So I love to look sexy but sophisticated, casual but classy and simple but breathtaking. I don’t like over-the-top dressing. Moderate is ok for me.

1. How well do you know the people who live next door to you?

I have known them for a long time, and they have become family friends. We have a very rare but close relationship in that they are very different from us.

2. How often do you see them? [Why/Why not?]

I see them every day. At least twice a day, we come in contact with each other and sometimes I spend the whole day with them and vice versa.

3. What kinds of problems do people sometimes have with their neighbours?

Having good neighbours helps make our life easier because of the things they can be of help with, but bad neighbours can incite lots of troubles. The conventional problems that people might face from a bad neighbour include loud noise, dispute, confusion, complaints, discomfort from loud music and issues with children, gardening and garbage.

4. How do you think neighbours can help each other?

Neighbours can help each other with so many things like, have good discussions with us, help us with any difficulty and help us mentally and financially. A good neighbour would be there if a person gets ill and needs to be taken to a hospital. A good neighbour is always there to lend a helping hand.

Yes I do, I hate the noisy environments and lousy people. Noise gives me a headache so I try to avoid it as much as I can, which is not entirely possible because I have two lousy and noise-making nieces. And loud noises are dangerous to the ear.

Well I come across different noise every day, from the noise from traffic where different cars keep honking, noise from the ringing of phones, noise from the engines and much more.

3. Are there any sounds that you like?

Yeah I love musical sounds or sounds that make sense. I like sounds that give a soothing to my spirit, not sounds that add more burden to it. Most of the time I always have my headphones on so I don’t have to listen to sounds that don’t make sense.

4. Where can you hear a loud noise?

Well loud noise can be heard from traffic, factories, especially quarry sites or from some sort of explosions.

No, I don’t because I am a very busy person and don’t have the luxury of time to take care of a pet. Taking care of pets is very demanding and time-consuming. As much as I love dogs I can’t keep them and I definitely would never buy a cat because I don’t like them

2. Do you like animals?

Yes I love animals and am always fascinated by how they live and communicate with each other. To some people, it doesn’t make sense but there are some animals I have read about and wish to study.

3. What's your favorite animal?

My favorite animal is a parrot, though I have other animals I like I think I will enjoy keeping a parrot because it doesn’t require much time and energy. And parrot is an interesting animal to have, I have always been fascinated by it.

4. What is a popular pet to have in your country?

I think dogs are more popular but it all depends on what pet people prefer to buy. I love dogs but can’t keep them, some people like a cat, fish, snakes and so on.

5. Did you have a pet as a child?

I had a parrot, my parents gave it to me when I was 8. And I had it for a very long time before my mean cousin decided it had stayed too long in our house, so he poisoned it. He never really like the parrot anyway so he was just looking for an excuse to get rid of it.

6. Why do people like pets?

People like pets because pets are soothing companions. They keep us healthy and reduce stress. People tend to open up more towards pets, not that they are crazy or don’t have friends but there are times we as humans need to open up without having to worry about been judged.

I love taking all kinds of photos, so far I look good in it then it’s perfect. I don’t know much about taking photos but I love selfies. It gives me a clear view of myself.

Most of the time I upload them to my social media platform, sometimes I just save them in my archive for future use or send them to people.

3. When you visit other places, do you take photos or buy postcards? [Why/Why not?]

I prefer taking pictures, postal cards can be misplaced or torn. But pictures last longer and can be saved. Also, you get better views when you take pictures.

4. Do you like people taking photos of you? [Why/Why not?]

That will be a big YES. I am not camera shy and my face is camera-friendly so whenever I want to get a full picture of my outfit or my surroundings I can request help from someone. Also whenever someone requests my picture I willingly allow the person to take a picture of me.

1. Do you like singing?

I think like is an understatement. I love singing, I sing anywhere I find myself. It is one of my main hobbies apart from cooking. I am a soprano singer, I can also switch to alto if I want but most of the time I just stick to the soprano.

2. When do you sing?

I sing anytime, when I am in the kitchen, in the bathroom, in church, just go while away time or when I am sad. Let’s just say I sing almost every time. I even sing and talk sometimes. I also sing when I am listening to music.

3. Do you have a favorite song you like to sing?

It is very hard to choose from, but I will pick Bigger by Moses Bliss. Sometimes I sing the songs from The Greatest Showman, Mainly This is me. There are so many songs I like to sing, some I can’t even remember their title or who sang them but I love listening to them.

4. Will you take singing lessons in the future?

Sure, I want to take singing lessons so I can increase my vocal range and also control my breathing and pitch. And so that I won’t sing like a dying toad. It will also be good to take singing lessons because I might get the opportunity to sing in the future and it would be bad if I don’t have control over my voice or if I don’t know the basic techniques of singing.

5. Did you enjoy singing when you were young?

I started singing at the age of 4. I used to watch so many musical shows with my mom, and that developed my interest in singing. I also used to attempt to sing the songs from the movies with my mom. My mom has a great voice, I guess I got my voice from her.

6. Do people in your country like singing for entertainment?

Yes. Music is well known for entertainment in my country. When there is no music then there is no entertainment. Even kids find it boring without music. It’s more like music is part of our lifestyle. You can tell from our movies that music is part of our lifestyle.

7. Do you want to become a singer?

Yes, I have always wanted to write and sing songs to connect better with people. But I want to be a Gospel singer. I want to sing songs that inspire and motivate people not to expose them to immorality.

8. Tell me your favorite singer?

My favorite singer is Tasha cobbs, she is a foreign Gospel artist, who has inspired me with many of her songs. The first time I heard her song was in a movie titled breakthrough. And it was indeed the breakthrough I needed.

9. If you could learn a musical instrument what would it be?

I already know how to play the piano but I still learn how to play more instruments, like Guitar, Drums, and trumpets. I also want to learn how to play the Xylophone and any other instrument that catches my attention.

10. Did you do anything special last weekend?

No I didn’t, on Saturday I cleaned my house from top to bottom. In the evening I just slept through because I was tired. On Sunday I went to Church and went out with my friend after.

: I live with my best friend Erica, we share an apartment. But sometimes I stay with my parents.

2. What is your favorite room in your home?

I have so many favorite rooms but if the kitchen is a room then the kitchen is my favorite room. If not then my bedroom is my favorite room. These two places are where I get to be me without having to hide.

3. How is your home decorated?

It is decorated in a chic manner, not too dark or flashy. The walls are painted white and are glazed, the sofas are green and are neatly arranged so it doesn’t occupy too much space. The blinds are gold. My room and my friend’s room are decorated according to our taste. But the whole house is decorated exquisitely.

4. Do you like visitors coming to your home?

Yes I do, I don’t know what the essence of a home is if people can’t visit. I love inviting people into my home. Though I don’t like an unexpected visit, I can’t do without them.

5. Do you like watching TV?

Yes I do, I can watch Tv for a whole day. Especially when I am home all day with nothing to do, then Tv becomes my best friend from the day.

I have so many favorite tv shows but I watch Legacy the most, it is an American Tv series. I also watch Charmed, How to get away with murder, Flash, and Nancy drew.

7. What was your favorite show when you were a child?

My favorite show as a child was pinky and the brain. Pinky was the dummy while Brain was the genius. Pinky was always following Brain gullibly and does whatever Brains say and always gets in trouble instead of Brain. While Brain was the idea guy, he brings the idea and how it’s to be executed but leaves it entirely to Pinky. And always says “ONE DAY AM GOING TO RULE THE WORLD”. It’s always so funny to hear something so small that can be squashed say that.

8. Do you like watching TV shows from other countries?

Yes most of the shows I watch are foreign shows. Probably because they speak English and their shows are always straight to the point and not too long.

9. What Indian Tv shows are you interested in?

I watch Kumkum Bhagya, India’s best dancer, Anupama, Choti Sadarni, Kundali Bhagya, Coffee with Karan, and some other shows, I can’t remember their names.

1. How do you usually spend your weekends?

Most times I go out with my friends, we either go to the movies, the beach or the mall. Sometimes I stay at home to read or watch a movie. Sometimes I play games or just sleep through. It depends on my mood.

2. What do other people in your hometown (or in your country) usually do on weekends?

In my country, people usually go to ceremonies or parties. There is never a weekend that a party is not organized mostly on Saturday. But on Sunday people go to their various religious centers and afterward some people go home why some hang it with their friends.

3. What will you do next weekend?

I will be going to my parents on Saturday for a family reunion, then on Sunday I will be going to Church, and after I will be going to the mall with my sister for our monthly bonding. I might also see my friends but it’s still uncertain.

4. Which is your favorite part of the weekend?

I love hanging out with my friends or sister, but my favorite part of weekends is staying at home to either read, cook, watch a movie, and most importantly sleep. I always have a hectic week so sometimes I just prefer to stay indoors.

5. Do you think weekends are long enough?

It depends because most times I feel more days should be added to the weekend and other times I feel the weekend is too long and I can’t wait for Monday, that is probably whenever I am anxious about something. But in my opinion, the weekend will still not be long enough even if more days are added to it.

6. How important do you think it is to have free time on the weekends?

It is very important because there should be a time to reflect on all the actions and decisions you’ve taken during the week, you can pick out your errors and make sure you don’t repeat them in the coming week. You should also have time to clear your mind so that you will be able to start the new week with a fresh mind.

7. Do you like to travel somewhere at the weekend?

Yes, but not every time. I only travel if it is compulsory or I want a change of environment to clear my mind. I also travel just for the fun of it. I also travel during the weeks not only on weekends.

8. Do you think traveling eases the mind and body?

Yes, I think it helps, because psychologically a change of environment helps the mind stay calm and your body feel relieved from any tension. I believe it is easier to think and not make rational decisions when our minds and body are calm and collective.
