Dear Sir or Madam,
Sample Letter Of Request (Formal Letter)
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing this letter to claim my insurance for an item I lost while travelling during the holiday.
I lost my luggage which contained my clothes, shoes and an old family heirloom, a diamond-encrusted necklace to be precise. This luggage contained some other valuable things and vital documents. I have patronised your insurance service recently and my insurance number is 23567892.
I travelled to Maimi for the holiday and I remember picking up my luggage at the airport and putting it into the taxi I hired. It was a carnival period in Miami at that time, when the driver got to a certain point the street was full and there was a traffic jam, I alighted from the taxi and decided to enjoy the view. I offloaded my luggage and went around the carnival. I got so fascinated with the things I saw and dropped my luggage to take a picture when I finished and wanted to pick up my luggage it was nowhere to be found. I searched everywhere but couldn’t find it.
As per the travel insurance, I am entitled to receive the coverage of the lost items. I am not so disturbed about the clothes and shoes but I am worried about the necklace and documents in the luggage because the necklace is a rare piece and has been in my family for over 50 years. It is said to cost over half a million rupees. I would like to claim the necklace price as it was a very costly necklace. I would appreciate it if you could transfer the money into my account. I have attached a copy of my insurance certificate and a copy of my insurance payment history to this letter.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours faithfully,
David Hassan
