- There are over 700 countries and thousands of cultures all over the world.
- People speak a variety of languages and there are a richness and diversity of cultures all over.

- I have learned about many cultures but there is one I find very interesting and would love to know more about.

- Japan is an island country off the east coast of Asia
- It consists of four islands, Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu

How you know about it
- I know about Japan from learning in school
- I also read about the country in different books
- And also through movies such as The Hidden Blade, Rashomon, and thirteen assassins
Why you want to know more about it
- I find the Japanese culture interesting because of its richness in historical background.
- Japan’s culture is a fascinating blend of old and new, it is both traditional and ultramodern
- I love their cuisine such as noodles and sushi which is loved the world over
- The Japanese also have a high penchant for cleanliness, when coming into the house shoes are swapped for slippers before entering the living space
- The sitting seiza which I the traditional way of sitting in Japan is by sitting with your legs folded under you

These and more are a few reasons why I love and would love to know more about Japanese culture. The Japanese are an interesting set of people. I hope to visit Japan in the nearest future to learn about their culture firsthand.

An important way to learn about a foreign culture is by visiting the country or city and learning about the customs and traditions firsthand. It is quite okay to learn about a country from books and movies but sometimes facts can be misinterpreted and while visiting, the traveller can know better about it while also having fun.
Que 2. Some people say that reading is the best way to learn about a culture, Do you agree?
Reading is a great way to learn about a foreign culture however there is nothing as great as experiencing firsthand about a particular culture. Getting to talk to the people and see the artefacts or customs makes a great difference. So I don’t agree that reading is the best way to learn about a culture.
